Welcome to my website featuring the exciting hobby of electric football*. I've been a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers ever since the Vince Lombardi era in the 1960's. I was born the same year Lombardi took over the team as head coach in Green Bay-1959. Hence, the nickname, Green Bay Glenn. Now,
on to the purpose of this website--a hobby I call MICRO FOOTBALL. Yes, this is the old kid's toy you remember from decades ago that has been known as electric football. I decided to coin
my own term "Micro Football"
just to put a unique stamp
on my favorite hobby.
This classic game has
evolved from a toy to
a real game of skill.
The product line has
greatly improved
over the years.
For example, the bases under the player figures peform so well you can now execute real plays! It takes true skill to drive your team down the field and lead them to victory. No more of that silly running around in circles you may recall if
you played the game in the 50s and 60s. In fact, most people playing this game are now adults! The largest segment of this hobby across the nation is the 40-something age group, which includes myself. This is now a serious hobby loaded with skill and fun. It's very much like the model railroading, or the radio controlled airplane hobbies. Just like them, our hobby is made up of all kinds of interests and areas of specialization, including the collectors, painters, detailers, as well as talented "coaches" who play for real rings and trophies across the nation. I have created and run a league in Houston over the past few years. But,
I also enjoy playing the game alone, known as "solitaire". I use this game to study the various formations and strategies as well as to execute plays. This game actually helps me in the real world as I also started coaching high school football in 2006!
